Attic of the Thurzo Palace – the Castle Hall

After a recent renovation in 2016, the attic of the Thurzo Palace was adapted to a multipurpose room named the Castle Hall. In the past, many aristocratic buildings had their own representative halls of a proper architectural quality. They were used as a venue for various social gatherings and cultural events. Thanks to the reconstruction, attic premises were transformed into a multifunctional hall with a similar function. Now it serves as a center for presentations, expositions, exhibitions, conferences and other social and cultural purposes.
The project was administrated by Žilina Self-Governing Region and financed through the Regional Operation Programme (EU Funds), under the name „Promotion and Protection of the Cultural Heritage of Our Ancestors“ with a total cost of 395 776,59 €. Orava Museum invested a 13 350,-€ in a variety of display items, sanitary facilities and the kitchenette.
